📺️ Sports This Week
🏈NFL
Must Watch: Bills (6-1) @ Vikings (6-1)
Mon: 8:15 PM ET | 5:15 PM PT – ESPN/ABC
A head-to-head meeting of two of the top teams in the NFL so far this season. Buffalo is still loaded, and quarterback Josh Allen is building another MVP case. Meanwhile, Minnesota is coming off its first loss and will use backup quarterback Carson Wentz over Kyler Murray.
Worth It: Packers (5-3) @ Patriots (5-3)
Sun: 4:25 PM ET | 1:25 PM PT – Fox
Every game is big for the Packers as they sit at the bottom of the NFC North. The Patriots are hitting their stride, and this could be a playoff-like game by the end of the day.
Background TV: Buccaneers (3-5) @ Bears (6-2)
Sun: 8:20 PM ET | 5:20 PM PT – NBC
Many believe Chicago is the team to beat in the NFC North, and the Bears are playing like it with Caleb Williams on the field. It’s been a tough year in Tampa Bay, but an upset here could ignite a rally. That would require the Bucs’ best defensive performance of the season.
🏀College Basketball
Men’s
Must Watch: No. 12 Arkansas (1-0) vs. No. 9 Virginia (1-0)
Sun: 1:00 PM ET | 10:00 AM PT – ESPN
Top-12 teams meet in Washington, DC. They play generally contrasting styles, with Arkansas looking to push the pace and put up points and Virginia attempting to slow things down and play more intentionally and strategically.
Women’s
Must Watch: No. 10 Iowa (1-0) @ No. 2 UConn (1-0)
Sun: 2:00 PM ET | 11:00 AM PT – FS1
These are two of the modern powers in women’s basketball. Other teams in the Big Ten have caught up to Iowa (or at least closed the gap), so it’s a good test for the Hawkeyes to see how they stack up. It will also be UConn’s second straight top-10 matchup against the Big Ten this week.
Worth It: No. 14 Kentucky (1-0) @ No. 25 NC State (2-0)
Sun: 3:00 PM ET | 12:00 PM PT – ESPN2
Zoe Brooks leads NC State against Clara Strack and Kentucky. The Wolfpack has had a habit of playing up to its competition in these ranked games. Will that continue on Sunday?
Worth It: No. 12 North Carolina (0-1) @ No. 1 South Carolina (1-0)
Sun: 5:30 PM ET | 2:30 PM PT – ESPN
North Carolina opened its season with a rough double-digit loss to Oklahoma, and now the Tar Heels get the No.1 team in the land. South Carolina put up 101 on No. 20 Maryland and has been a potent offensive team for a while.
🏀NBA
Must Watch: Lakers (7-2) @ Pistons (6-2)
Sun: 6:00 PM ET | 3:00 PM PT – NBA TV
Luka Doncic and the Lakers head to Detroit to face Cade Cunningham and the Pistons. It’s LA’s first trip East of the Pacific and Mountain time zones this season, and Detroit is looking for a win after falling to Philadelphia on Wednesday.
Worth It: Nuggets (3-3) vs. Pacers (3-6) (Mexico City)
Sat: 4:00 PM ET | 1:00 PM PT – NBA TV
An NBA international matchup. Indiana doesn’t have the draw it used to, but the Nuggets still have plenty to make up for it with Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and others.
Worth It: Knicks (4-4) @ Cavaliers (4-4)
Sat: 8:00 PM ET | 5:00 PM PT – NBA TV
A rematch of last year’s Eastern Conference Final. New York has rebounded after a rough start. Cleveland is looking to prove it still belongs among the Eastern Conference’s elite teams.
🏈College Football
Must Watch: No. 9 BYU (7-1) @ No. 3 Utah (8-0)
Sat: 12:00 PM ET | 9:00 AM PT – ABC
The only top-10 matchup of the college football slate this weekend will feature in-state rivals in Utah. BYU already has a huge win over Notre Dame this season, and Bear Bachmeier has been driving the Cougars’ success. Yet, it’s Utah that enters with the advantage.
Must Watch: No. 1 Miami (FL) (8-0) @ No. 11 Notre Dame (7-1)
Sat: 7:30 PM ET | 4:30 PM PT – ABC
The classic Catholics vs. Convicts rivalry renews in South Bend. Notre Dame gets a chance to rectify its loss to BYU, and Miami will be without star wide receiver Malachi Toney for the first time this season.
Worth It: No. 5 Alabama (6-2) @ No. 14 LSU (6-2)
Sat: 3:30 PM ET | 12:30 PM PT – ABC
An elimination game in the SEC. With the 12-team playoff format, a third regular season loss is a death sentence. Fitting that this one takes place in Death Valley, where Lane Kiffin has a chance to knock off one of his former employers.
Worth It: No. 6 Kentucky (7-1) @ No. 13 Tennessee (6-2)
Sat: 6:15 PM ET | 3:15 PM PT – ESPN
Kentucky has been a surprise this season and has a chance to prove itself even further on the road. Many aren’t sure what to make of this Tennessee team, but Knoxville is always one of the toughest places to play in the conference.
🏒 NHL
Must Watch: Lightning (9-3-2) @ Wild (11-3-3)
Sat: 8:00 PM ET | 5:00 PM PT – ESPN+
Can anyone slow down the Minnesota Wild? They’re tied with the Edmonton Oilers for the best record in the West, and only Carolina has a better record in the NHL. Tampa isn’t far behind despite a recent trade request from star forward Nikita Kucherov.
Must Watch: Panthers (9-5-2) @ Bruins (11-4-3)
Sun: 1:00 PM ET | 10:00 AM PT – NHL Network
This is an underrated rivalry made stronger by the Brad Marchand trade that helped the Panthers win a Stanley Cup a couple of years ago. This season, the Bruins lead a jam-packed Atlantic division, with Florida just three points back.
Worth It: Mammoth (10-6-0) @ Senators (10-6-1)
Sat: 7:00 PM ET | 4:00 PM PT – ESPN+
Two of the young up and coming teams in the league have impressed this season. Utah is loaded with scoring depth that has allowed Clayton Keller and Mikhail Sergachev to play more to their strengths. Meanwhile, Tim Stutzle and Drake Batherson continue to break out for Ottawa.
Worth It: Red Wings (7-6-3) @ Avalanche (9-6-1)
Sat: 9:00 PM ET | 6:00 PM PT – ESPN+
A can’t-miss classic NHL rivalry. These teams have been heading in different directions and now play in separate conferences, but that just adds more anticipation to each meeting.

The Big One: Holy War
No. 9 BYU @ No. 3 Utah - Sat- 12:00 PM ET - ABC
There’s plenty at stake between the BYU Cougars and the Utah Utes in this season’s “Holy War” in Salt Lake City. They hold the top two spots in the Big 12 entering this week of play, and the winner pretty much seals a spot in next month’s conference championship game.
Utah lost its head coach to the Michigan job in the offseason, and after promoting its long-time defensive coordinator, the Utes have their highest ranking in the College Football Playoff Era. They’ve had a couple of close calls against Colorado and Houston, but overall, the Utes have dominated the competition.
Quarterback Devin Dampier is one of the most underrated players in the country, and his dual-threat ability will cause some issues. Add running back Wayshawn Parker to the mix, and the Utes have what it takes to hold their own against a good BYU team.
Meanwhile, BYU has had a great season itself, highlighted by a massive win over Notre Dame. The Cougars’ defense has been elite, shutting down opposing offenses against their wills, except for a concerning loss at UCF.
BYU has gone 3-1 without star running back LJ Martin, with quarterback Bear Bachmeier picking up the slack in the running game. However, the passing game has been a critical part of the offensive success, so the Cougars would benefit from finding a true running back to step up.
The Cougars have won the last three meetings, with 2024 and 2025 coming down to the wire.
Stat: 4 - total points that have decided the last two “Holy War” matchups. BYU won both: 22-21 in 2024 and 24-21 last season.
Pick: Utah wins by 6.
BYU’s defense keeps it close, but ultimately, the Utes have had the more consistent and reliable offense. A few sputters here and there for the Cougars in a hostile road environment ultimately lead to the Utes surviving the challenge.
